Fedeli calls decision to prorogue legislature a “distraction tactic”

Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli says the Wynne government’s decision to prorogue the legislature is nothing more than a “distraction tactic”.

Premier Kathleen Wynne indicated she intends to suspend the current session of the Ontario legislature.

Fedeli claims the move comes in order to hit the reset button following mounting anger over skyrocketing electricity rates and the premier’s personal popularity hitting new lows.

Premier Wynne recently acknowledged that Ontario is facing a hydro affordability problem.

Fedeli says the Premier and Energy Minister Glenn Thibeault have spent months denying an energy crisis exists, and that the Premier has apparently only just learned that Ontario families are struggling to afford their hydro bills.
