North Bay Police have arrested an 18-year-old man from Brampton along with three youth from Brampton and Etobicoke for making purchases with counterfeit money.
On Saturday, they used fake American money to make purchases at a local pharmacy and at Northgate Mall. Police say they were contacted by a department store staff member who suspected the currency was counterfeit.
Police seized $1,770 in counterfeit U-S money, three knives, Canadian cash obtained as change following the counterfeit transactions and the man’s vehicle as offence-related property. All four of them were held in custody for bail hearings.
