Above seasonal temperatures expected in North Bay over the next few months

Keep your winter jacket on the hangar in the closet, because you won’t need it for the next couple months.

Weather Network meteorologist Nadine Powell says the summer heat is here to stay. Powell says temperatures for September, October and November will come in at around 12 or 13 degrees.

Powell says the fall outlook in North Bay will have most people quite happy. All three fall months will be above seasonal. Powell says there might be a cold day or two, but for the most part the warmth will stick around.

Temperatures will cool off in November, but Powell says people shouldn’t jump onto the “winter is here” wagon at that point. Temperatures will stay above seasonal heading into the winter.

Ontario is expecting above normal temperatures so North Bay isn’t alone, but communities around Timmins and further north will see normal fall temperatures.

Powell gave a quick preview of what winter might look like this year. Precipitation will likely be at normal levels, but temperatures could be on the cool side.

At this point meteorologists predict that December is more likely to be an extension of the mild fall pattern according to the Weather Network. The colder temperatures are expected to hold off until later in the winter.
