Another North Bay driver hit with heavy fine as traffic campaign continues

If you fail to stop for a school bus, expect your wallet to be considerably lighter. Another driver has been hit with a nearly $500 dollar ticket for failing to do just that. This one took place yesterday at Fisher and Haig Street shortly before 9:00am.

Two drivers were also ticketed for speeding on Ski Club Road. The highest speed recorded was 65 kilometres an hour in a 40 zone.

The North Bay Police Service’s traffic enforcement campaign is set to end tomorrow, and the results have been mixed. A few days of no tickets, but a lot of days with plenty of tickets. On Tuesday, a driver was issued a nearly $500 dollar ticket for failing to stop for a school bus. That was followed by a report of 12 drivers being hit with speeding tickets spread out over two of the Community Safe Zones on O’Brien Street and Marshall Avenue.

Additionally, Stock Transportation has continued to inform police of all reports received from bus drivers about drivers failing to stop. Eight drivers were reported on Friday, and six more on Monday. As of this moment, no more reports have been made available to the media.
