Do you have any unwanted, but still useable, goods taking up space in your garage? Well, if you do, then maybe you want to reduce, re-use and recycle by participating in the City of North Bay’s Goods Exchange Day.
On Saturday, residents are encouraged to their goods curbside. Re-usable items could include furniture, clothing, books, tools, and sporting goods.
Goods Exchange Day helps protect the environment in two ways. First, it cuts down on garbage that would probably end up in the city’s landfill. One man’s garbage is another man’s gold after all. And secondly, re-using items saves energy and the environmental impact of producing new items. Especially considering most of the stuff getting tossed out is usually still in good shape.
People who want to participate are asked to place their stuff out on the curb after 8:00am. Then remove any left-over items before 6:00pm on Saturday evening. There will be no special city pickup of any items left curbside.
