Near North District School Board delays final decision on high schools in North Bay

Near North District School Board Trustees will not be making a final decision on the consolidation of the three public high schools at their regular Board meeting on June 27th.

At a Committee of the Whole meeting last night, a recommendation to move ahead with the ARC decision on E.T. Carmichael, E.W. Norman and W.J. Fricker public schools at the June 27th meeting was brought forward. That recommendation is to consolidate the three schools, and build a new facility on the W.J. Fricker site.

When it comes to Chippewa, West Ferris and Widdifield secondary schools trustees have determined that they will require more time for discussion in order to reach a final decision. The timeline for a final decision hasn’t been established.
