Mattawa Mayor Dean Backer says enthusiastically that Mattawa Voyageur Days is looking forward to organizing the 21st edition and celebrating good times, good music, and good memories.
After a unanimous council vote, rumblings that the festival would end after two decades have been put to rest.
Backer says a $300,000 festival budget has been tabled for 2018, cut in half from $600,000 in 2017.
A town hall meeting also confirmed the desire of the community to keep the festival going. The Voyageur Days festival is said to bring approximately $1.5 million in economic impact to Mattawa.
The 21st Mattawa Voyageur Days will be held July 27-29, 2018.
