As the province is scheduled to reopen on Tuesday, the North Bay and District Chamber of Commerce (NBDCC) is launching a new campaign to support local businesses.
“We want to support our local businesses as they come out of the lockdown,” said Peter Chirico, President and CEO of the NBDCC. “We want to make sure everybody in the community knows who’s open and what’s available.”
The “Step Up for Local Business” campaign has been created to spread the importance of shopping local, as well as allow businesses to inform the public on how to best support them.
Chirico says local businesses have been doing their best to “stay afloat” during the pandemic, retooling their operations for online ordering and curbside pickup.
This campaign is in addition to the Shop Local campaign the Chamber has been running for the majority of the pandemic.
“These are the people who go to our hockey games, these are the people who are supporting the charities,” added Chirico. “Now it’s time for us to support that local.”
Businesses can visit the NBDCC’s website to download promotional graphics to feature on their online channels.
