A 26-year-old North Bay man is facing child luring and child pornography charges after police say he sent explicit messages to someone under 18.
Police say the accused and the victim are alleged to have met on a social networking/online dating application in early April.
Police say the man then allegedly sent the victim explicit messages, pictures, and videos via those social networking and dating applications.Â
The victim reported the incident to the North Bay Police Service on May 18, 2021. The accused was arrested on June 19, 2021, and attended a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse on June 20.
The 26-year-old was charged with:
- One count of Luring a Person Under 18 years of age by means of TelecommunicationÂ
- One count of Makes, Prints, Publishes or Possesses for the Purpose of Publication any Child PornographyÂ
- One count of Make Sexually explicit material available to a person under 18 years of age
North Bay Police Service will not be releasing the name of the accused.Â
