The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit’s website shows the total since the pandemic began has reached eight.
Seven have been in Nipissing District, with one in Parry Sound.
Six new cases of COVID-19 are being reported Thursday.
All of them are in Nipissing.
There are 16 active cases, with 15 of them in Nipissing.
Just over 76 percent of adults in the region have had one dose of COVID-19 vaccine with just over 59 percent fully inoculated.
