Quintet of Troops drafted into the NHL

Five North Bay Battalion players have been drafted into the NHL.

The Seattle Kraken selected defenceman Ty Nelson in the third round and centre Kyle Jackson in the 7th round.

Troops blueliner Tnias Mathurin was picked by the Detroit Red Wings in round five, with two more Battalion players drafted in the 7th round.

The Winnipeg Jets selected goalie Domenic DiVincentiis while Battalion captain Liam Arnsby was drafted by the Florida Panthers.

North Bay’s Lucas Edmonds, who plays for Kingston, was drafted by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the third round.

The NHL draft took place in Montreal.
