Driver charged with impaired after Operation Impact in North Bay

City police stopped 200 vehicles as a part of Operation Impact over the Thanksgiving long weekend.

The North Bay Police Service reports five drivers were screened for alcohol testing with one driver charged with impaired.

“The North Bay Police Service would like to thank every member of the public who drove safely and drove sober this Thanksgiving long weekend,” said Jeff Warner, Inspector of Operations at the North Bay Police Service. “Our officers helped to keep our roads safe, removed a dangerous driver from the road and helped ensure the motoring public got to their destinations safely.”

Operation Impact is a national campaign that targets impaired, aggressive and distracted driving, along with seatbelt usage.
