Plenty of food bank donations during Sunday’s Santa Claus parade

The community’s generosity during Sunday’s Santa Claus parade is helping keep the shelves stocked at the North Bay Food Bank.

Over $770 in monetary donations were made along the parade route with over 1,670 pounds of non-perishable food items collected too.

Battalion players, staff from the Moose and Country FM, and volunteers helped collect the donations for the food bank.

In the past 10 months the food bank says they have provided hampers to almost 150 new households and helped clients who are not new but haven’t needed their help in a few years.

Through October of this year, the food bank has served 3,364 households.
