Battalion, Lakers and Voodoos rising up their respective national rankings

Three area hockey teams continue to move up their respective national rankings.

The North Bay Battalion are up one spot in the CHL Top 10 rankings.  

The Troops are 9th in Canada this week.  

North Bay will face off against number three Ottawa on Thursday night at Memorial Gardens. 

The Central Division-leading Troops are second in the Eastern Conference standings, behind the 67’s.

In OUA women’s hockey, the Nipissing Lakers are up two spots in the USports Top 10 national rankings.  

The 8-1 Lakers are now fourth in Canada.  

On the ice, Nipissing travels to Kingston to play Queens this Saturday and Sunday. 

In the CJHL, the Powassan Voodoos are 11th in the national Top 20 this week.  

This after an honourable mention in last week’s rankings. 

Powassan goes after their 11th straight victory Wednesday night in Espanola against the Paper Kings.
