An early morning outage is affecting an estimated 3000 customers in West Nipissing.
Greater Sudbury Hydro has released this statement on the outage:
“A power outage is currently affecting approx. 3000 Greater Sudbury Hydro customers in West Nipissing.

It is caused by a problem at the transmission level affecting supply to us. Hydro One is working to resolve their issue on their end.
We are not able to restore our customers until the supply issue to us is resolved.”
restoration is estimated around 8am.
Meanwhile Hydro One’s outage website indicates crews have been dispatched and restoration is also estimated to be around 8am.
With strong wind gusts between 50-70 km/h in the forecast for the region today the hydro utility is urging customers to prepare in the case of an extended power outage by ensuring their emergency kit is replenished.
