A flood watch has been issued for our area.
The North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority says with the anticipated snowmelt and the high amount of rain forecasted, water levels in creeks and rivers are expected to rise.
Officials with the Authority say localized flooding is possible and residents, especially those in low-lying areas, are encouraged to monitor conditions and prepare accordingly. They add shorelines of creeks and rivers are slippery this time of year, and combined with cold open water pose a serious hazard, reminding the public to keep children and pets away.
