Charges for going about 50 km/h over the limit

A couple of recent speeding incidents in North Bay have led to charges.

The North Bay Police Service reported on social media that a motorcyclist was clocked going 105 km/h in a 50 km/h zone on the 400 block of Lakeshore Drive on Monday, April 17.

Police say the driver was arrested, their vehicle was impounded for 14 days and they are facing a 30-day driver’s license suspension.

North Bay OPP, meantime, report a vehicle was stopped on April 13 on Highway 11 North in the city for going nearly 50 km/h over the posted speed limit.

Police say the driver, a 29-year-old Cobalt resident, was arrested for an outstanding warrant under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and held for the Canada Border Services Agency.
