Odyssée launching Justice and Community Safety, and Badminton programs

Two new programs are coming to École secondaire publique Odyssée for the 2023-2024 school year.

The first is a Justice and Community Safety program, which is designed to prepare young people interested in a career in the law, the judicial system and protective and emergency services.

“They will have the opportunity to take some certifications as of grade 7 and start to gain knowledge about those careers and opportunities so that when they’re in high school they may want to pursue that pathway,” says Mathieu Perron, principal.

Students will have the opportunity to take specialized courses and training.

The school is also offering an intensive badminton program, allowing students in grades 7 to 12 to develop sporting skills while stimulating academic success and individual and collective well-being.

“We’re teaming up with a former student, Kurt Tempelmans Plat, who has KTP Racquet Club,” Perron says. “The sport is growing in the community. Kurt has done a lot of work and the students have a great interest with the sport. We’re seeing a great opportunity to be able to grow their skills as well and have a program where they can excel in the sport.“

On top of practices and training sessions outside of school hours, students will have the opportunity to compete in local, regional and provincial events. Students looking to get involved in either program can begin the application process at the following links:
