Record-breaking microchip tally at Barkfest

The North Bay Humane Society says its Barkfest Microchip Clinic set a new record on the weekend.

Just over 100 pets were microchipped during the three-hour event, bringing in just over $6,000 for the shelter’s programs and services.

“Every year we’ve run Barkfest, the community response has been amazing,” says Liam Cullin, Executive Director for the North Bay Humane Society. “The support we’ve received from Coldwell Banker Peter Minogue Real Estate Brokerage has enabled us to grow far beyond what we imagined.”

Along with microchipping pets, the event included a community barbecue and cutest pet contest.

More than 80 local animals are included with the public able to vote for their favorite online.
