Two school properties at the Near North District School Board are going up for sale.
The board says with the completion of the new Maple View Public School in North Bay, both E.T. Carmichael and E.W. Norman Public Schools will be surplus property as of September 1.
Officials say under the Education Act, the schools must be offered to specific government-funded agencies before offering the property for sale to the public.
If no preferred agencies make an offer by the end of September, the board will then seek ministry approval to put them up for sale to the public.
Each property is slightly more than five acres.
