The Let’s Remember Adam campaign continues to raise awareness about school bus safety and stopping for the school bus.
Nearly 100 players took part in the 4th annual Let’s Remember Adam Washer Tournament and Raffle at the Mattawa Legion last weekend, in what officials say was the biggest event they’ve hosted.
Along with funds being used to spread the message about stopping for the school bus, the money will also help the campaign continue to try and make real safety changes to school buses.
“We are trying to get every municipality in Ontario to take a good hard look at installing Stop Arm Camera Safety Systems on all their school buses,” states a media release. “Currently the Town of Mattawa is the only municipality in Ontario running a full camera Stop Arm system.”
Officials say the main goal is to have every school bus in Ontario equipped with a camera system so people who don’t stop for the school bus can’t get away it.
