A northern publisher is looking for poetry, short fiction, creative nonfiction and visual art submissions.
Creative works from those ages 18-30 years old are being sought by Latitude 46 Publishing for an upcoming anthology titled A Thousand Tiny Awakenings.
The theme is breaking oppressive boundaries.
Officials say the anthology, which is scheduled to be published in spring 2025, will offer readers a glimpse into how a new generation perceives the world and how they are using their own power to shape the future.
Editors include Connor Lafortune, a recent graduate from Nipissing University, citizen of Dokis First Nation and poet, and Lindsay Mayhew, poet and recent graduate from Laurentian University.
The deadline for submissions is Sept. 30, 2023.
Details are as follows:
– All fiction / creative nonfiction submissions must be between 1000 and 6000 words
– Can submit up to 3 poems
– Preferred file type: docx
– Artists can submit a maximum of 10 visual art pieces (jpg file)
– Please include a short bio with contact information (email, phone number or both) in your submission.
– Send all work in a single file to [email protected], subject line: Anthology Submission [your name]
There is no fee for submissions and officials say if accepted for publication, the author/artist will receive a $200 honorarium and two copies of the anthology.
