There’s mixed news with the latest job postings report from the Labour Market Group (LMG).
Officials say while job postings were up month-over-month in May in Nipissing, the year-over-year figure saw a significant drop for a third straight month.
“It is now becoming more apparent that there is some form of economic downturn taking place within the district,” states the LMG Monthly Jobs Report for May 2023.
There were 532 job postings in Nipissing District that month.
LMG says that’s up about 9 % from April, but down just over 17 % year-over-year.
264 unique employers posted jobs in May.
The top five include:
– North Bay Regional Health Centre
– Near North District School Board
– Canadore College – College Drive
– District of Nipissing Social Services Administration Board
– The City of North Bay
The top hiring industry was Health Care & Social Assistance followed by Retail Trade.
