A Halloween treat is returning to Fire Station One.
North Bay Fire and Emergency Services will be hosting its traditional Halloween Night for Kids on Oct. 31, thanks to support from Community Living North Bay.
“This has always been such a popular event, a way that we can give back to the community,” says Chief Jason Whiteley. “Being on a hiatus the last couple of years because of COVID there was a lot of disappointment in the community, so we thought it was best to bring it back. We’ve got a lot of people that are enthused to bring it back and I think the community is going to be happy that we bring it back.”
He says residents can help out by providing pumpkins of all sizes, straw bales and corn stalks and of course, wrapped candy and chips.
“The association donates a bunch, but we have thousands of kids come by and the more we have, the more we can give out,” says Whiteley.
Donations, including cash, can be dropped off at Fire Station One on Princess Street, or call 705-474-5662 to make pick-up arrangements.
The Halloween night event, including a haunted house hosted by Community Living and a robotics demonstration by FIRST Team 1305 takes place from 5 pm to 8 pm on Oct. 31.
