A 32-year-old city man is facing eighteen charges including drug trafficking, weapons and driving-related counts, along with fail to comply with a probation order.
The North Bay Police Service says officers attempted to stop a vehicle with unauthorized plates on Monday night on Lakeshore Drive.
They say the vehicle then made several evasive turns before coming to a stop, with the accused then fleeing the vehicle.
Officers located and arrested the man behind a building on Lakeshore.
Approximately $1,200 worth of suspected fentanyl, crystal methamphetamine and cocaine were seized along with a machete, knife, pellet gun and a can of bear mace.
The accused was held pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
