Job postings in Nipissing in August were up when compared to July but were down year-over-year.
That from the Labour Market Group (LMG), which reports 523 job postings for the month.
“For the sixth consecutive month this figure represented a notable-to-significant year-over-year decrease,” states the LMG August Jobs Report.
It’s down just over 25% from August last year.
However, it’s up nearly 19% when compared to July.
The top five employers posting jobs included:
– Near North District School Board
– North Bay Regional Health Centre
– Canadore College
– Ontario Northland
– Nipissing University
Health Care & Social Assistance was the top hiring industry followed by Educational Services, Retail Trade rounding out the top three.
