Residential Rental Housing by-law being reviewed

The city is reviewing the Residential Rental Housing By-law.

While that process is underway, officials say council has issued a temporary pause on issuing new licenses.

They say current licenses will continue without interruption during the review.

“During the temporary pause of the Residential Rental Licensing Program, property owners are expected to remain in compliance with all other City By-laws,” states a release. “This includes adherence to regulations regarding parking, property maintenance, cleanliness, and noise control.”

During the review, the city will be meeting with stakeholders to get feedback on the existing program and review potential changes.

Anyone with concerns related to a specific property is encouraged to contact By-law Enforcement at 705-474-0400 ext. 2512 or via email at [email protected].
