A free Christmas Day Dinner is once again taking place at the Pro Cathedral of the Assumption on Dec. 25.
Sylvia Antinozzi, committee chair, says no one should spend Christmas Day alone or hungry.
“Because of the economy and the price of food right now a lot of people can’t afford the same amount of groceries,” she says. “We are really bracing for a big crowd.”
Antinozzi says they’re still in need of volunteers, too.
She says they have about 34, with 100 needed.
“We have positions like doing the dishes, washing the pots and pans,” she says. “We have a food line, and we need somebody to dish out the food and somebody to welcome people at the door.”
Antinozzi also says volunteers are needed to help prep the vegetables on Dec. 23 at the Davedi Club.

The sit-down Christmas Day Dinner runs from 11:30 am to 1 pm on Dec. 25 with take-out from 1-1:30 pm.
