Convicted murderer facing new charges

The man currently serving a life sentence for the murder of Renée Sweeney in Sudbury in 1998 is facing new charges.

The North Bay Police Service says 44-year-old Robert Wright, who’s currently in custody in Kingston, has been charged with sexual assault, forcible confinement and harassment

The charges come after the Greater Sudbury Police Service gave local police information about a historical assault that happened in North Bay between 2015 and 2016.

City police say the charges were laid after an investigation.
