Traffic complaint leads to impaired charge

The North Bay OPP says a traffic complaint of a possible impaired driver on the Highway 11/17 bypass in the city has resulted in one person being charged.

Ontario Provincial Police received a call just after midnight on Jan. 10, with officers locating the vehicle on Highway 522 in Trout Creek.

The OPP says after speaking to the driver, it was determined that they had consumed an alcoholic beverage.

A 38-year-old resident of Nipissing Township is charged with impaired driving and drug possession.

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on January 30.
