Two dozen charges laid after recent robbery

A 37-year-old city man is facing several charges after a recent robbery at a Fisher Street convenience store.

The North Bay Police Service says just before 10:30 am on Jan. 12 a person entered the store, told the clerk he had weapons, went behind the counter and took cigarettes.

He then fled on foot towards downtown before police arrived.

Officers identified the man after watching CCTV footage and made an arrest on Jan. 22. Police say the investigation determined the person was involved in numerous thefts at other local businesses in North Bay.

He’s facing two dozen charges, including one count of robbery and seven counts of theft under $5,000.

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.
