Battalion partners with CMHA North Bay for mental health awareness game

The North Bay Battlion are partnering with the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) for a mental health awareness game this Thursday.

The Troops will host the Niagra IceDogs, and the game will feature a CMHA-run kiosk for fans to learn more about the organization’s services, a ceremonial puck drop, and more.

It’s all part of the ongoing partnership between the team and the organization, through the provincial Talk Today program. In its tenth season, the program boasts that over 1,800 OHL players and nearly 600 coaches, billets and staff have all received mental health and suicide prevention training.

CEO of CMHA North Bay and District Mary Davis says it’s through events like this they can help reduce stigma, increase awareness and encourage people to seek help when they need it.
