The North Bay Real Estate Board calls it a “massive rebound” in home sales to start the year.
Officials say 47 homes were sold through the MLS System, up nearly 81% from January last year.
Historically though, the figure is down nearly 7% when looking at the five-year average, while it’s just over 16% below the 10-year average.
Also dipping slightly (1.6%), was the average price of homes sold last month, which was $395,738.
But when you add up the dollar value from all home sales last month, it amounts to $18.6 million, which the board says is nearly 78% higher than the same month last year.
January saw 69 new listings, which is up more than a third (38%).
The North Bay Real Estate Board covers the area from Mattawa to Verner and Sundridge to Temagami.
