CION has announced the nominees in the final two categories for this years awards with four people from North Bay among them. They include:
Outstanding Songwriter:

Nicholas Cangiano, “ Dazed ” by Nicholas Cangiano (North Bay)
Outstanding Director – Short/Mid-length Film
– Austin Lindsay, Walter’s Room (North Bay)
– Piotr Skowronski, Bang Bang (North Bay)

At least eight local entertainers or projects are in the running for Northern Ontario Music and Film Awards.
Cultural Industries Ontario North (CION) has announced over 50 projects, performances, and practitioners from Northern Ontario are nominated in 13 award categories.
Local nominees for Music Awards include:
- Outstanding Album – New Occasion, Nicholas Cangiano (North Bay)
- Meilleur Album Francophone – Catalepsie, TIBO (North Bay)
- Outstanding Music Video – “The Same Way”, Rose-Erin Stokes (North Bay) Directed by Andrew Sowka
Local nominees for Film Awards include:
- Outstanding Short / Mid-Length Film – Red Iron Road: No. 8 Reporting, directed by Matthew Lyon & Ajosha Klimov (animated in North Bay)
- Outstanding Television or VOD Series – Essex County (filmed in North Bay), SkyMed Season 2 (filmed in North Bay) and The Lake Season 1 & Season 2 (filmed in North Bay)
- Outstanding Screenwriter – Austin Lindsay, Walter’s Room (North Bay)
CION says nominees for Outstanding Songwriter and Outstanding Short/Mid-Length Director will be announced in the coming days.
Awards will be handed out on June 29 in Sudbury.
