Three local military members receiving Order of Military Merit

Over 70 members of the Canadian Armed Forces are being invested into the Order of Military Merit, including three from 22 Wing North Bay.  

Mary Simon, Governor General and Commander-in-Chief of Canada, will invest 5 Commanders, 11 Officers and 57 Members into the Order of Military Merit at an investiture ceremony Friday at Rideau Hall.  

Among the officers is Colonel Mark Lachapelle while members include Chief Warrant Officer Deborah Martens and Warrant Officer Danette Weyh.

Created in 1972, the Order of Military Merit recognizes distinctive merit and exceptional service displayed by the men and women of the Canadian Armed Forces, both Regular and Reserve.
