POWASSAN LIONS’ CLUB FISH FRY

Following a two-year absence, the Powassan Lions’ Club is extremely excited to host its Fish Fry again this spring. This is the biggest event that the Powassan club hosts and its members are more than ready to see its return. The Fish Fry raises money to fund and help continue the good work the club contributes to the community.It’s a tremendous opportunity for area family members to get out and meet their neighbours as they assemble for a delicious and nutritious meal of pan-fried fish, baked potatoes, beans, salads, desserts and beverages.
In addition to a hearty meal, patrons can enjoy a beverage from the cash bar, and purchase tickets on a chance to win a Selki kayak, a Giesler boat replica coffee table, or a Muskoka chair, all while being entertained with live music performed by the Blackbird Trio.
This year’s Fish Fry is once again held at the Powassan Curling Club where its volunteers work along side Lions’ club and community members to prepare the venue for the annual fundraiser. “At past Fish Fry’s we served in excess of 350 dinners, and are stocked up to meet or exceed that number this year–so hopefully after a two-year wait we’ll be cooking dinner for a lot of hungry people” exclaims event chair Pete van Amelsfoort.
Dinner will be served between 5:00 and 9:00 pm on Wednesday, June 15 at a cost of $25 per person.
