Families invited to take part in downtown scavenger hunt

It’s being billed as a playful afternoon of discovery, nostalgia, and community spirit.

Downtown North Bay and Waterfront is hosting their Summer Scavenger Hunt on Saturday (11 am to 3 pm).

It’s one of the many events taking place during the city’s Homecoming Festival weekend.

Officials say the adventure starts with clue sheets at Junior World (193 Main Street East), then takes them into various downtown businesses with surprises along the way.

The first 50 children to complete the hunt will receive a colourful pinwheel, a free Heritage Train or Carousel ride ticket, and special offers from local merchants.

“As part of the Homecoming event, Downtown North Bay invites families to come and take part in the Summer Scavenger Hunt on August 2nd, as well as vote on the Decades themed windows for our business competition,” says Amber Livingstone, Executive Director of Downtown North Bay.

For the Decades Window Competition, businesses are transforming their storefronts to reflect styles from past eras.
