Provincial funding boost supports area mental health services

Base funding is on the rise at the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), North Bay and District.

Vic Fedeli, MPP for Nipissing, announced over $100,000 in additional permanent base funding to support 52 beds in two of the association’s community homes in Nipissing.

“Our government is taking action to deliver quality mental health and addiction care by continuing to support the Canadian Mental Health Association, North Bay and District,” says Fedeli. “This funding will help strengthen our local mental health and addictions services sector, and support community-led and delivered mental health and addictions programs in Nipissing.”

Mary Davis, Chief Executive Officer, CMHA North Bay and District says they’re grateful for the increase in base funding.

“This ongoing investment strengthens our ability to provide consistent, high-quality support by maintaining a safe and welcoming environment, so residents have the stability they need to focus on their recovery,” says Davis.  “It also helps us sustain a skilled, responsive workforce that can meet complex needs with compassion, professionalism, and continuity of care.”

The CMHA, North Bay and District breakdown of funding includes:
· $1,418,300 in base funding
· $106,200 additional base funding increase
