The Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) North Bay District, says the flood warning for the shoreline of Lake Nipissing and the Lake Temagami area has been extended to Tuesday.
On Lake Nipissing, officials say water levels continue to exceed the maximum non-damage level, and inflows to the lake remain high.
The MNR says on May 14, the average water level on the lake was measured at 196.26 and the lake level at North Bay was 196.23m. The maximum non-damage level is 196.22m.
Recreational users (boats, jet skis, canoes, kayaks, etc.) are urged to use caution around dams and in high water areas as large debris pose an additional safety risk.
Motorized water-craft users are being urged to use caution along shorelines and in high water areas, so their movements do not pose a risk to the safety of individuals or cause damage to the environment, properties and infrastructure.
