10U North Bay Panthers win gold

The Rahnmet North Bay Panthers 10U baseball team won gold at a Rep A tournament in Clarington this past weekend.

After winning two of three round-robin games, they upset the top-seeded team from Oshawa in the semis to advance to the final.

The Panthers won the championship game 9-5 over Quinte, the same Trenton-area team they lost to in round robin play.

Starting pitcher Adrian Hosein picked up the win, allowing six hits and five runs over 3.2 innings while striking out five.

Reliever Charlie Allen picked up the save, tossing 3.1 scoreless innings with six strikeouts.

Ben Laframboise led the offense going 3-for-3 with a single, double, triple, and four RBI.

Michael Patreau and Jacob Wrixon each drove in two runs on two hits.

Next up for the Panthers is a home game against the Sudbury Shamrocks on Aug. 6 at Lennox Field as they continue to prepare for the 10U Rep A provincial championship in Cambridge on Labour Day weekend.

Team members include Adrian Hosein, Avery Galipeau, Ben Laframboise, Blaise Prytula, Charlie Allen, Dallas Monette-Taylor, Eli McCann, Graydon Taylor, Jacob Wrixon, Mason Auger, Michael Patreau, and William Leggett.
