The Laurentian Voyageurs and Nipissing Lakers created the ‘705 Challenge Cup’ this past off-season, and the first game of the series is happening this weekend.
The ‘705 Challenge Cup’ will be comprised of all 12 regular season games between the Lakers and the Voyageurs in men’s and women’s basketball, hockey and soccer.
The scoring each year for the new hardware will consist of the overall win-loss record between the two universities.
Should the series end in a head-to-head tie, plus-minus will be used as a tie-breaker.
The first games towards the ‘705 Challenge Cup’ go this Sunday, September 11th when Laurentian hosts Nipissing in women’s and men’s soccer with kickoffs at 12pm and 2:15pm, respectively.
