Battalion end the preseason with a 4-2 win over Owen Sound

Adam McMaster and Zach Poirier each scored one goal and added an assist as the North Bay Battalion completed its Ontario Hockey League exhibition schedule with a 4-2 victory Sunday over the Owen Sound Attack.

Brady Lyle and Max Kislinger also scored for North Bay, while David Sherman had two assists. Goaltender Brent Moran made 34 saves as the Battalion avenged a 3-1 home-ice loss Saturday to the Attack and finished the preseason with a record of 2-2-0.

Riley Bruce, Cam Dineen, Mark Shoemaker and Brett McKenzie, all draft picks, as well as free-agent invitees Justin Brazeau and Brent Moran head to National Hockey League rookie camps starting  on Tuesday.

The Battalion opens its regular-season schedule when it hosts the Niagara IceDogs at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 23.
