Battalion come up empty at home, again

Another slow start on home ice doomed the North Bay Battalion last night. Early in the second period, the shots were 23-9 in favour of the visitors, the Owen Sound Attack. The Attack won the game 3-1, but not without some controversy.

An Attack player put the puck on net and crashed into Troops goaltender, Brent Moran, knocking the net off and putting the puck in the net at the same time. The play was reviewed and the officials determined no goal. But, then the linesman initiated another meeting of the minds and they put the head sets back on. After a lengthy review, the refs reversed the call again and it was ruled a goal after officials said the puck went in off a Battalion player.

Three home games this season, and three losses. But, Head Coach Stan Butler says it’s not time to hit the panic button yet. He says his players need to find the work ethic it takes to be successful in the OHL. The Battalion now hit the road, and will face Sault Ste Marie tomorrow. Then they return for a Thanksgiving Day match up against the Niagara Ice Dogs. Puck drop on Monday is 2:00pm.
