Battalion finish weekend with a split

The North Bay Battalion ended the weekend with a split, after a 4-3 come from behind OT win against Hamilton on Saturday. The Troops responded in a big way after a 5-2 loss on Friday night against Guelph.

Down 3-2 with a minute to go in the third, defenceman Cam Dineen tied the game at three apiece and the Troops were off to OT. In the extra frame, Steve Harland scored the game winning goal assisted by Adam Thilander. The win moves the Troops record to 6-6, good for second in the central division.

The Troops have been strong on the road so far this season with a 4-2 record. They’ve struggled on home ice to date. Head Coach Stan Butler acknowledged earlier this month, that for whatever reason his teams are notorious slow starters on home ice. They’ll try to get the home ice issues cleaned up this Thursday against the Oshawa Generals at Memorial Gardens.
