Lakers men’s and women’s hockey teams heading in different directions as the first semester break approaches

The Nipissing Lakers women’s hockey team is rolling. The Lakers made it three wins in a row, thanks to two more road wins this past weekend, as they defeated Laurier 3-2, before topping Waterloo 3-1.

Next up for Nipissing is a matchup with their Northern Rivals, the Laurentian Voyageurs, as the 705 Challenge Cup continues. The Lakers will head to Sudbury on Saturday to take on the Vees in their first of two meetings this season.

Following Saturday’s game, the Lakers finish the first semester off with three straight home games, Nov. 18, 19 and 26. But until then, a fifth straight game away from home is on the Lakers radar.

The Nipissing Lakers men’s hockey team dropped their fourth straight Saturday in Quebec, as the UQTR Patriotes hammered the Lakers 7-2. They haven’t had a completely healthy lineup at any point this season.

Nipissing is looking to get back on track this weekend when they hit the road once again and head to Ryerson on Friday and Toronto on Saturday. Following those two road games, the Lakers finally return to home ice on Nov. 18 and 19, as they host RMC and Carleton.

The Lakers currently sit in ninth place in the East Division. With six games left on the schedule before the first semester break, the Lakers will look to get things on track in a hurry.
