The North Bay & District Midget AAA Trappers proved that they are a force to be reckoned with this weekend as they went all the way to the final and fell 3-2 in overtime to the Oakville Rangers; one of the top major midget teams in the OMHA. Trappers Head Coach Guy Blanchard says the coaching staff is very proud of their players. He says they got better every game and played stronger as a team every game out.
The Trappers got to Sunday’s final thanks to a 3-0 win over the Central Ontario Wolves on Sunday morning. The Trappers started the tournament with a 4-3 win over the Toronto Titans on Thursday. On Friday morning they fell 5-1 to the Toronto Marlies, and then the Trappers bounced back with a 2-0 win over the Grey-Bruce Highlanders Friday night. On Saturday morning the Trappers fell 4-3 to the Quinte Red Devils but rebounded later in the day with a 6-3 win over the Guelph Gryphons.
