North Bay Battalion swing two deals ahead of OHL trade deadline

The North Bay Battalion were busy ahead of Monday’s trade deadline, swinging two deals today.

The Troops have acquired defenceman Stephen Templeton from Oshawa for a 10th round draft pick. Templeton has been a part of Oshawa’s team for over three seasons now. He has played 126 games as a General and has tallied 3 goals and 12 assists. Templeton has spent some time this season as a forward with the Generals and was part of the Generals Memorial Cup championship team from two seasons ago. He’s the grandson of long time North Bay Centennials coach Bert Templeton.

The other trade made by the Troops today was a deal sending forward Maurizio Collella to the Flint Firebirds in exchange for a 5th rounder in 2019. Colella has 6 goals and 16 points in 35 games this season, his second with the Troops after coming over in a deal from Hamilton.
