North Bay Battalion blow 3rd period lead, lose 7-4 to the Sault Ste Marie Greyhounds

A 4-2 lead for the North Bay Battalion crumbled in the third period, as the Troops gave up five straight goals en route to a 7-4 loss against the Sault Ste Marie Greyhounds yesterday afternoon. The loss was the Battalion’s second straight, after being shutout 4-0 by the Mississauga Steelheads on Friday night.

The Troops Max Kislinger scored the goal early in the 3rd to give his team a 4-2 lead, before everything unraveled.  Greyhounds forward Zach Senyshyn scored the game winner at 12:42 of the third period. Kislinger also had two assists to go along with his goal, while Brett McKenzie added a goal and an assist in the loss.

Thanks to a game in hand, the Battalion still hold the tie-breaker over Niagara for the final playoff spot in the East. The Troops are back in action on Thursday night at Memorial Gardens when the Guelph Storm come to town.
