North Bay Battalion drop another game on home ice against Guelph

The North Bay Battalion’s playoff hopes took a big hit last night after a 3-1 loss to the Guelph Storm. Guelph scored the game’s first three goals, and goaltender Julian Sime left the game and was brought to the hospital after taking a puck awkwardly to his side. Justin Brazeau scored the only Battalion goal late in the 3rd period.

Head Coach Stan Butler says the message about winning doesn’t seem to be sinking in. Butler says they’ve talked about it numerous times and the guys say all the right things, but in life, actions speak louder than words. Butler called the Troops effort last night, “extremely disappointing”.

The injury woes also continued for the Battalion, forward Brett Hargrave is out with an upper body injury, and forward Jacob Ball didn’t finish the game. The Troops are off tonight, and travel to Niagara on Saturday to take on the Icedogs who are currently holding down the last playoff spot in the East.
