The North Bay Sports Hall of Fame Executive and Sports Awards Committees have announced the 2016 Inductees and Award winners. The Hall of Fame Inductees for 2016 are George Couchie, Mark Kosturik, Beverly Phippen, Chris Pigott, and Barb Wellard.
The 2016 North Bay Sports Award Winners are:
Jack Burrows Memorial Award for Sports Achievement – Dominique Bouchard & Taylor Milne
Dedication to Soccer (North Bay Youth Soccer) – Les Wilkinson
James Kelly Memorial Award for Team of the Year – U16 West Ferris Rep Ringette
Dominico Family Award for Contribution to Softball/Baseball – Jake Tougas
George Martyn Memorial Trophy for Basketball – Judge Greg Rodgers
Judge Harry J Reynolds Memorial Trophy for Hockey – Colton Point
Al Brennan Memorial Trophy for Coach of the Year – Toivo Koivukoski
Jim Aspin Memorial Award for Executive of the Year – Heather Chambers
Mort Fellman Memorial Award for Female Athlete of the Year – Grace Michauville
Britt Jessup Memorial Award for Male Athlete of the Year – Jackson Brear
Pete Palangio Award for Contribution to Sport – Dave Wilkinson
Peter Handley Friend of Sport – Greg Estabrooks
Mike Mitchell-Larry Avery Memorial Award for Football – Ryan Hunter
John Toswell Memorial Award for Curling – Rick Miller
Special Olympics Award of Excellence – Benjamin Chain
The Inductees and Award winners will be honoured at the 37th Annual North Bay Sports Hall of Fame Induction and Awards Dinner on Saturday, May 6th at the Best Western on Lakeshore Drive.
